Our Alumina Raschig Rings are inert ceramic packings designed to function as a robust support bed for catalysts or as high-efficiency mass transfer media. The material composition, with an alumina content exceeding 99%, ensures minimal contamination and superior resistance to chemical attack, including strong acids and alkalis, across a wide range of operational temperatures.
Alumina Raschig Rings Benefits
- Exceptional Mechanical Strength: Each ring is manufactured to withstand high compressive loads within deep packed beds, preventing fracturing that leads to increased pressure drop and catalyst fouling. This reduces unscheduled shutdowns for packing replacement.
- Superior Chemical Inertness: The high-purity alumina (Al₂O₃ ≥ 99%) composition is non-reactive with most process chemicals. This feature is critical for applications in catalyst beds where leaching could poison the catalyst, or in distillation where product purity is paramount.
- High Thermal Stability: Maintains structural integrity at continuous operating temperatures up to 1600°C. This makes the rings suitable for high-temperature applications like regenerative thermal oxidizers (RTOs) and synthesis gas reformers.
- Optimized Surface Area-to-Volume Ratio: The classic Raschig ring geometry provides a balanced design, offering substantial surface area for effective gas-liquid contact while maintaining a high void fraction to minimize pressure drop across the packed bed.
